Power Protect [eco] | Breathable Insulation

Energetic refurbishment for an improved quality of life

Think smart.

Live sustainably.

We are spending more and more of our time at home. It’s a place of retreat where we live, relax and feel secure. When renovating their home environment, many people focus on energy-efficient construction, not least because of ever stricter legal requirements for energy efficiency in buildings.

However, the trend towards increasingly dense buildings also brings negative side effects, such as lower air exchange. This often means higher exposure to vapours from building materials and the formation of mould. That is why we cannot be indifferent to the materials we use for renovation, because even the smallest amounts of pollutants released into the

living environment can have a negative impact on the health of occupants.

The Remmers Power Protect [eco] system does not release any harmful or allergy-triggering substances.

The mould remediation panels are extremely low-emission, prevent the formation of condensation

on the wall surface andensure efficient moisture regulation in the house. On top of this, they’re also

safe and easy to work with. For a natural feeling of wellbeing and greater quality of living in the home.

Power Protect [eco]

The eco-friendly interior insulation

that raises the energy standard

Many remediation systems promise to tackle the causes of mould infestation. Often, however, one has to make concessions in terms of health, environmental compatibility and sustainability. This is why Remmers developed the Power Protect [eco] system. The suffix

[eco] stands for maximum sustainability and a positive interaction with the environment.

The Remmers Power Protect renovation panels are made from an innovative mixture of the thermally insulating mineral perlite and environmentally friendly (recyclable) cellulose. The Remmers Power Protect system does not release any harmful or allergy-triggering substances. The mould remediation panels are extremely low-emission, prevent the formation of condensation on the wall surface and ensure efficient moisture regulation in the house. On top of this, they’re also safe and easy to work with. For a natural feeling of wellbeing and greater quality of living in the home.

Tested for healthy living in every respect Eco-friendly products have a key role to play, especially

indoors. The [eco] products from Remmers have been awarded several distinguished quality seals. This

documents that the coatings are, among other things, particularly low in emissions and harmless to people

and the environment.

Power Protect [eco] has guaranteed resistance to mould. This means that it exhibits no material loss, structural damage or disintegration of binding agents after long-term exposure to a mix of spores that is typical for living spaces. You can find the latest test report for the Power Protect [eco] system from Dr C. Messal at MICOR, the renowned laboratory for microbial processes, at Remmers.

Power Protect [eco] belongs to the category of products that are proven to be responsibly manufactured and has therefore been awarded the “Blue Angel” quality seal. This seal identifies products that meet high standards with respect to the environment, health, and performance characteristics. In this way, it is a reliable indicator and guide for eco-conscious purchase decisions.

The benefits at a glance:

■ Environmentally friendly and sustainable product

■ Awarded the “Blue Angel” ecolabel

■ Better thermal insulation [λ = 0.05 W/(m•K)] than calcium silicate panels [λ = approx. 0.07 W/(m•K)]

■ Sulphate-resistant bonding agent

■ Lightweight yet highly stable product

■ Easy to handle and apply

■ Small batch sizes (also suitable for small-scale projects)

■ All system products from a single source

Applying the strip technology

1. Preparation

Mineral building materials acc. to WTA Code of Practice E 6-4 are allowed as substrate. The surface must be dry and free of dust as well as other substances that could interfere with adhesion.

2. Filling with PP Fix or SP Levell (optional)

The cement mortar PP Fix or SP Levell can be used to compensate irregularities and level the wall surface with a layer of up to 8 mm thickness.

3. Adhesive mortar bed with PP Fix

The adhesive bed is applied with a notched trowel on the backside of the panels.

4. Mounting of Power Protect [eco]

The Power Protect [eco] (P 25 or P 40) panels on which PP Fix has been applied are applied on the wall and pressed on. Cross joints are to avoided.

5. Application of SL Fill Q3

The filler and reinforcement mortar SL Fill Q3 is applied with a notched trowel on the outside (front side) of the panels.

6. Reinforcements with Tex 4/100

The reinforcement fabric Tex 4/100is worked in the mortar layer in vertical lane with a float avoiding creases (the single lane must overlap for at least 10 cm).

7. Levelling of SL Fill Q3

To create a fine-grained, compact surface that is suitable for painting, SL Fill Q3 is levelled with a trowel and, if desired, rubbed over again after it has begun to set.

8. Painting in the desired colour

Remmers Color Si / SL and Earthborn Clay Paint are perfectly suited for any kind of capillary active interior insulation – naturally also for Power Protect [eco] System.
